Mr. Rubelein is an H. P. Lovecraft want to be but this book hasr a morass of a plot centering on a town which a poorly drawn imitation of Lovecraft's Arkham where many of his tales take place. A young couple are drawn to Edenville in part by job possibilities. Once there a pall of evil enters of their lives and increases with each passing day. The problem for me is there is little consistency and direction to the plot which is somehow linked to the main character's first novel The Shattered Man. (read less)
