Two lecture programs presented at The Madison Public Library to celebrate Dane County's 150th birthday. Both are introduced by Kathrine Rankin, City of Madison preservation planner. The Voyageur: Gordon D. Orr, Jr presents a slide presentation and lecture on the fur trade in the Great Lakes Region with a focus on Wisconsin's place in the fur trade. He looks at the historic fur trade routes around the Great Lakes region. Winnebago Indian Life: Pat Brown Bruhy presents a slide presentation and lecture on Winnebago Indian life with a focus on the Madison, Wisconsin area in the 1830's. She also looks at their relationship with the fur traders during that time period.
